Prior to Herner & Associates, LLC. Mr. Herner practiced
as Herner & Gilbert, LLP with
Ms. Gilbert since January 1, 2004. Prior to that, dating
back to 1991, Mr. Herner practiced
under the name Law Offices of Donald A. Herner. For 1989-90
he was partner, head of the
corporate group and then Of Counsel to Cummings & Lockwood
in Stamford. Before
coming to Connecticut, he was one of three founders of
the firm Anderson Russell Kill &
Olick, P.C. in New York (1969-1988), which grew from the
original 3 attorneys to over 150
by the time he left, and earlier had been an attorney at
Chadbourne Parke Whiteside & Wolf,
also in New York. He is rated AV in the Martindale-Hubbell directory.
Specialties:
Mr. Herner has served in the outside general counsel capacity
for two middle market
companies, both of which grew through a series of acquisitions,
and one of which went
public and listed on the New York Stock Exchange. He considers
himself a corporate
generalist with broad experience in many corporate law
issues with particular emphasis on
securities laws and corporate finance, real estate and
environmental matters.
